us vs. them

i feel like pinterest is FULL of quotes like "you don't chose who you love" blah blah blah. and i couldn't agree more. but no where in these pages upon pages do you find "except if you're gay. because if you're gay, you chose to love them and now we're denying you of all the rights married people get. because there is something wrong with you and you don't deserve them." at least i haven'f found anything like that..
it's kinda funny to think about. the pilgrims came here for religious freedom. is there a billboard somewhere that says "WELCOME to America! home of the free and Christians "? why are we forcing christian views on people who don't want them? so much for religious freedom?
what in the world made us think this was okay? kim kardashian can get married and call it quits for 72 DAYS and that's okay but gays who've been in love for YEARS can't?
America is all about the freedoms we have. then why are we denying them to people because of who they love? that's not equality. if you're against the gays getting married then fine. no one is forcing YOU to do it. but get your nose out of other people's happiness. if marriage can be a "civil ceremony"  then it sure as hell better be a "civil RIGHT"  and anyone who thinks it's okay to discriminate against people over something they can't control, is an ignorant douche.

election 2012

i dunno about you..but i was glued to my t.v. watching the election.
i voted Obama and i am a proud democrat.
although, i do think that Romney might be better suited for the economic situation, he was no where near where I thought he should have been with social issues.
NOTE: i said I. ME. WHAT I THINK.
everything that i think was important was vitalized in President Obama's campaign. like woman's issues and immigration.
personally, since i'm the one who has the vagina, i think i should be the one who makes the call with what i can do with it.
just sayin..
oh, i also love all those DIE HARD AMERICANS who bash the president. um really? hypocrites much? i think that "loving" America comes with having respect for it's leadership whether you agree with it or not..but hey, that might just be me.
also, if you're under 18, shut up. you honestly don't know what's going on. you're only saying what you've heard your parents say.
i personally think that our country is headed somewhere where it needs to be. i am stoked for what these next 4 years will bring.

nine eleven

i remember being outside at recess with everyone.
we were running around playing tag and then the bell rang.
time for math. the worst part of the day.

we all came in and there was a weird feeling in the room..sort of like we were missing something
the old t.v. in the corner of the room was blaring some movie..
two towers were on fire and what looked like people jumping out of windows.
we were all so confused.
what movie is this..? why are second graders being shown this..?

the neighboring teacher came into our class room in tears and none of us understood why..
why was she sad..?
no one said anything.

kids started to get checked out eventually there was only about a group of 4 or  5 of us that were left at the end of the day. when the bell finally rang i ran outside to my mom. i just had to tell her about this movie and that everyone was acting weird..

when i got home, the same movie was on our t.v. too...
and this time my mom was the one who started crying.
so i asked..

"someone attacked our country.."

it didn't make sense..

looking back, i'm almost glad i was too young to understand what was really going on. i didn't realize the magnitude of our country's situation.

but what has always been clear from day one is that many innocent people who didn't need to lost their lives.
countless brave individuals sacrificed themselves to ensure the rest of the country would be safe.

i am so incredibly thankful for anyone who chooses to serve our country.
only America can withstand a horrible attack and come back stronger then ever.
